Looks like Momofuku Ssam made it into Pellegrino's best restaurant list again, place 26.
I believe that's the somewhat posher/formal sister of Momofuku Ko?

It's actually the other way around. Ko is their top of the line. Ssam and the Noodle bar are not as exclusive and much larger than Ko. Funny that Ssam made it on the list, and not Ko.

Maybe they could not get reservations

Of the six restaurants that are in New York, we have been to five of them. WD 50 is next on the list.

Already for 25 years we heard about Peter Luger's steakhouse. We never went there, mainly because we like to stay on Manhattan when we get out to dinner. Peter Luger is in Brooklyn.

But last night we had dinner there with very good friends that live in Brooklyn.

The menu is simple: Steak for two or steak for four. Spinage and potatoes. That is it. Cash only...

It was fantastic. Great food and great company.

Heh - that's probably it.
That's the thing with lists like that - the more you look into the details, the more you see that there's pretty much by definition a lot of subjectivity when you're trying to define "the best restaurant".

Especially a list created by a water company

TO DO LIST:
yesterday night after the sushi place,on my way to Zoltan's blues gig,
i passed on Houston and Bowery, Keith McNally's -Pastis, Balthazars, Schillers, ...- newest restaurant PULINO'S.
I love the interior of his restaurants but for being 'the new kid in town' it becomes a cliche of itself..i think

especially because the interior is COMPLETELY new, although it looks like a renovation..
He even added a new 'authentic-looking' facade lol

Last night we went to Perry Street, a Vongerichten restaurant in one of the Richard Meier towers along the West Side Highway. I really like this restaurant, because it is very quiet. If you want to have an intimate dinner with friends, this is the place to go.
