InHolland mag naar vroegere Vegro-plek
Gepubliceerd op 22 juni 11, 13:48 ALKMAAR - De nieuwbouw van Hogeschool InHolland in Alkmaar kan op de plek van de vroegere Vegrohallen op Overstad, in de hoek Pettemerstraat-Noorderkade-Zijperstraat. Dat aanbod heeft de gemeente Alkmaar aan het bestuur van InHolland gedaan. InHolland denkt nog na over zijn toekomst in Alkmaar. Alle mogelijkheden worden op een rij gezet. De nieuwe plek die de gemeente naar voren heeft geschoven is een van de alternatieven voor InHolland. Maar het zou ook nog kunnen dat de hogeschool uit bezuinigingsoverwegingen op de bestaande plek aan de Bergerweg blijft. Duidelijk is alleen dat InHolland hoe dan ook in Alkmaar gevestigd blijft, zegt woordvoerder Niels Pols. InHolland ziet af van vestiging in het voormalige Ringerscomplex op Overstad. Realisatie van die plannen neemt te veel tijd in beslag, volgens het InHolland-bestuur Too bad, I think the Ringers Location had more potential...  So what now? Cheers, Patrick Roegiers

Hey Patrick, How are you doing?
It has been very quiet around this project for a while, so thanks for the update. I hope it's not true though..... But, with all the publicity surrounding InHolland lately it is hard to predict what they need to do to make things work.

I'm fine Piet, and you? I just graduated for my bachelor study! Next step, Academie van de Bouwkunst in Amsterdam
 (check update forum: former team members) Yes it's very hard to predict, so I hope the best for you guys! I've worked hard on the preliminary design stage of INHolland Alkmaar on the Ringers location. So if the location will be moved, I'm realy curious how Rijk will work this out! Wow, that doesn't sound like good news. I was of the understanding that Rijk had made it work and that things would go ahead as planned. I hope he can secure this job some way or the other. It would be dreadful to loss something you have been working on for such a long time. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Officially we know nothing yet, but the negative publicity hype around the education quality of the school has an enourmous destructive effect. So, it becomes a self-fulfilling professy.
This week we have a meeting to see what is left standing of the project.

Right now it doesn't look good. It is not clear if we are still involved in the shopping center, or if they are going to do that with Dunnet Craven, who was designing the passages of the shopping center.
