I found some urban design studies for Water Quarter in Zeewolde in 2008. Bringing in the water into the polder gave an interesting section behind the dike. The inflatable storm-lock is located in the dike, but is only used when there is actually a storm. In normal use it is not a barrier, and you can bring in the boats into the polder.... 1

Last years design, before it got mangled. Now, in it's third iteration, it is becoming relaxed again.

The best solution of making a successful SuperTall is to have two ground floors. The upper one has all the front doors (lobbies/shops/ restaurants/ artgalleries/ corner store), and the lower level all the backdoors (Trucks/ trash/ bikes/ parking/ mechnical/ service)......6

These are the four different iterations in comparison to the Zalmhaven tower. I'm still partial to the first concept with the cable structure.......5

Our third design for the SuperTall was lowered to 300m and with a "traditional" stability structure. 300m keeps the tower in the SuperTall catagory....4

The independent living entrance is on a different street than the nursing home entrance. this way the independent living feels truly independent.
